Day 21 of pregnancy...Box started labor early evening Saturday November 3, 2007. No pushing, but there was mild spotting. Labor seemed to have stopped and Box was acting normal. Eating, active and bright eyed. The spotting had also stopped.

Day 22 of pregnancy...Sunday, November 4, 2007...Box had clear spotting, mild pushing showing labor had started again. Babies are active and seem to be ready to descend into birth canal. Again labor has seemed to stop. She is acting normal and there is no signs of stress.

Day 23 of pregnancy...Monday, November 5, 2007...6:30am Box has bright bloody spotting and seems in shock/stressed. No babies are stuck or in birth canal and they are moving slightly. Box is taken to the Vet for Oxytocin and Xrays. Spent several hours at the Vet while Box gave birth to 5 of her deceased babies. She was given 3 doses of Oxytocin; the maximum allowed over several hours. After the third dose, Xrays still showed 2 babies in the right Uterine Horn. We brought Box home in hopes she would pass the last two babies. Box delivered Baby 6 and 7 later that evening. She is recovering fine. No surgery was performed, due to a health risk to her being in such a delicate weakend condition.

Conclusion: Box never fully went into labor. The babies were stressed and in the womb too long. Normal gestation is 21-24 days.
